jmbar2's JournalThe Big Club: Jeffrey Epstein's Connections to New York City's Most Infamous Nightclub
I thought I could be surprised by nothing related to Epstein, but this story is beyond belief...
https://jamiefcrawford.substack.com/p/the-big-club-jeffrey-epsteins-connections
In September 2006, a blog post on Gawker was published about a then-upcoming New York City nightclub called The Box. The club is owned by The Impresario of Smut Simon Hammerstein - the grandson of The Sound of Musics Oscar Hammerstein. This 2006 blog post goes on to talk about one of the pedigreed men rumored to be behind The Box: the billionaire financier Jeffrey Epstein who had just been arrested for procuring a minor for prostitution earlier that summer. His involvement would help explain the venue name, the author wrote in jest.
Quintessentially- concierge "experiences"
Five billionaires paid 10 million euros towards the building cost of the superyacht in return for their own private suit on board. Cofounder Aaron Simpson emphasized that they would be remaining anonymous until a bottle of champagne hits the hull.
The archived website for the Quintessentially One explains that The jewels in crown of the super yacht are 12 stunning triplex apartments located on the top decks. These are available for sale to those looking for the most exclusive onboard residences in the world.
There is so much in this story... The Epstein class really lives in a world that we cannot even comprehend. And that world is populated by a lot of famous people, involved unbelievable depravity.
*Rump can't stand for Elon to get all the attention. FFS...
ELON is opening Wall Street with the SpaceX IPO - big bell-ringing, huge hoopla. Then *Rump comes in with announcement that Iran is not happening. Stocks crash.
What a fuckin' douchebag.
Understanding Musk's SpaceX IPO tomorrow - the global markets' biggest pump and dump? Risk to retirement funds
Great explanation from A More Perfect Union. This is truly scary...
Who is actually running the government?
Trump increasingly looks like "Weekend at Bernies". Others are running the show.
I can see glimpses of Herr Stephen Miller in some of the ideas being floated, like confiscating immigrant funds and assets. Kegsbreath entertains himself bombing fishermen and girls' schools. Brainworm is dismantling guardrails that monitor, report, and prevent diseases. And Muskrats continue to suck up data and revise every information system.
What keeps them all from running amok as he weakens? Susie Wiles? Certainly not Republican Congress members. Even though he's barely functioning, he still instills enough fear that no one is overtly stepping up to take over.
What happens when his ability to scare is gone? Who will win the power struggles?
Curious what folks here think...

The case against billionaires- Justin Wolfers (01:34)
Once you have more money than you can spend on a comfortable life, what do you do with more?
Buy power. Imagine having a handful of billionaires competing for power over the universe.
Wolfers makes a solid case for banning billionaires to save humanity.

Pope Leo's Encyclical Letter on AI: Full Text
This is a pretty remarkable statement, with lots of citations. Thoroughly modern and plugged-in Pope.

Kyiv under massive ballistic missile and drone attack.
Russia is pouring everything it's got into this. The subway where people shelter is unstable.
I can't help but feel responsible for this because of the US's passive acceptance of Russia's violence. Prayers for Ukraine to survive the night with as few casualties as possible.
