3. No problem in CA

Even though Cali is a recreational state now, I still get my rec on-line since the medical marijuana dispensaries tend to be cheaper. The only requirement in this state seems to be that the doctor must talk to the patient when issuing the rec, so I do chat with the issuing physician each time I renew (yearly), verbally at least if my web cam isn't functioning. They email a fully valid temp rec instantly and then mail me a fancy, signed and witnessed rec about 5 days later. The rec is also posted at my doc's website should any dispensaries wish to check my status.

Maybe there are additional rules at your physician's practice, but these laws seem intended to transfer full authority for deciding to the doctors, again, at least in CA. The doctors don't have to prescribe or provide the pot, just the recommendation that your condition (pain) could benefit from pot use.

I'd give the office a call on Tuesday. We're talking about pain here!

Hope this is helpful...
