and for the unnecessary grief that the NRA and the rabid 2A fanatics insist on forcing on the American public. Their paranoid assertions that "the government" is going to take away their precious guns is a lie that is directly responsible for thousands of needless deaths and injuries every year in this country.

The madness needs to stop, and the public is becoming more aware of the gun violence epidemic every day. We must support the efforts of the organizations who are fighting this plague with more than angry words on a discussion board: donate what you can, write LTE submissions, and speak out against gun violence in every venue that you can.
