Missing from Thanksgiving
32,000 families have one less seat at the Thanksgiving table this year due to gun violence.
Below are faces of children, age 0-16, killed by guns from May-Aug. Keep them in your thoughts this holiday season, and work to keep all of our families safe by supporting sensible gun control measures.
Happy Thanksgiving

(34,582 posts)The list pic, second row, next to last, is the spitting image of my grandson. Regardless, they were all beautiful. We have a problem that few want to face
On edit: clearing up what I meant. It isn't my grandson, but he looks just like him, and it strikes home.

(34,582 posts)I meant that kid is the spitting image of my grandson, and it punched me in the gut. I will edit my post to clear up what I meant.

(55,389 posts)I'm so glad it isn't your grandson. Though I feel terrible for the families missing all those beautiful children.

(We also need fewer idiot legislators who won't tell the NRA and its cohorts to kindly go fuck themselves--with their God-damned gunz.)

(6,647 posts)and for the unnecessary grief that the NRA and the rabid 2A fanatics insist on forcing on the American public. Their paranoid assertions that "the government" is going to take away their precious guns is a lie that is directly responsible for thousands of needless deaths and injuries every year in this country.
The madness needs to stop, and the public is becoming more aware of the gun violence epidemic every day. We must support the efforts of the organizations who are fighting this plague with more than angry words on a discussion board: donate what you can, write LTE submissions, and speak out against gun violence in every venue that you can.
