They guy most likely taken to Mammoth HS and put in the brig until arraignment and then fined or given a court date and either released on bail or sent to a different facility. Nobody stays at Mammoth for very long. But they will have to go to the expense of coming back for trial, it is a federal court.

The arresting ranger(s) had a mountain of virtual paperwork (computerized) and had to follow a protocol that is rather limiting in doing so.

The might get some jail time and a bunch of fines.
