Anyone who is outside around Ellicott City should find higher ground NOW. Another round of rain is coming in.

Nearly 13 inches of rain in just three hours at this weather station in Catonsville, Md. https://www.wunderground.com/personal-weather-station/dashboard?ID=KMDCATON31

Yes, by all indications this is worse than two years ago. It's absolutely unbelievable that this has happened twice in two years.

Incredible: Just to the southeast of Ellicott City, radar indices 7-8” of rain has fallen.

Capital Weather Gang Retweeted:

**PLEASE RETWEET** If you are in the downtown Ellicott City area or know of family/friends who live there: Please AVOID the downtown area. If you are in a vehicle - DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOOD WATER. Turn Around, Don't Drown.

WMAR-2 News Retweeted:

#REMINDER According to @NOAA, it takes just 12 inches of rushing water to strand a small vehicle, while 24 inches of fast flowing water can carry away most vehicles. #turnarounddontdrown READ MORE >> https://bit.ly/2L0Wmlg

#ECFlood | Reports of building collapses in #Ellicott City | Collapse rescue teams en route | In some areas, water is above the first floor of buildings.

5:30 PM Sunday- **FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY** remains in effect for Ellicott City. This is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY CATASTROPHIC situation and you must move to HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY AND STAY AWAY FROM ANYWHERE WHERE WATER IS MOVING.
