Cat Stevens & Elton John [View all]

Father and Son - Cat Stevens from the album Tea for the Tillerman released in 1970. Stevens sings in a deeper register for the father's lines, while using a higher one for those of the son.

Elton John - Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters from the Album Honky Chateau released in 1972. The song was inspired by lyricist Bernie Taupin hearing a gun go off near his hotel window on his first visit to New York.

Taupin wrote some great stuff and Elton came up with great melodies. Tumbleweed Connection is my favorite surfered Nov 24 #4
