Former NFL QB Mark Sanchez charged after surveillance video shows alleged fight in downtown Indy alley [View all]
Sanchez is very lucky he's only being charged with 3 misdemeanors instead of a felony. He is clearly guilty of instigating the fight that led to his own stabbing. Police said the surveillance video matched the other guy's story, while Sanchez either lied about not remembering what happened, or was so drunk that he truly didn't remember. A 38 year old former professional football player beating up a 69 year old man? Sanchez is scum.

Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez was charged early Sunday morning by Marion County prosecutors for his alleged role in a stabbing that left him seriously injured early Saturday in downtown Indianapolis.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Sanchez allegedly opened the drivers door of the truck and climbed inside despite being told to leave. The man told detectives Sanchez appeared intoxicated, smelled of alcohol and claimed to have spoken to the hotel manager, who said the truck was not supposed to be there. When the worker tried to call his supervisor, Sanchez allegedly blocked him.
Video shows the men circling the truck before a struggle broke out near a large dumpster. Detectives say Sanchez threw the victim toward the dumpster, and the two fought between the truck and the wall. The 69-year-old told police he used pepper spray to defend himself, but when Sanchez continued advancing, he thought this guy is trying to kill me and pulled out a knife and stabbed Sanchez several times in self-defense. According to the court documents, video gathered from the nearby Marriott hotel closely matches the victims account.
