5. Lead with light? Lead what, exactly?

I hope we get some better messaging from Democrats this year. A well-publicized "shadow government" positioned to offer salient critique of destructive and corrupt practices would be a worthwhile venture, but let's not pretend to leadership when the Republicans hold the federal government and the mainstream media outlets and increasingly social media as well. We're a long way from leading anything for a while.
