16. Hi Hugin. Good points about Americans and the rearview mirror. We are not used to it like other countries.

In essence Americans have been that boiling frog for centuries unknowingly cooking (what Friedrich Engels called "social murder": poor work regulations, social security cuts, no health insurance, military conscription.)

But thanks to Trumpf and these oligarchs we frogs are watching them boldly increase the temperature but we are powerless to jump out of the water.

Another analogy and full disclosure, I was part of the mayhem.

After 9/11, the US invaded two countries and toppled two regimes. Next thing you know, American Soldiers are involved in Iraq and Afghanistan for two decades until Joe Biden finally ended the "forever wars."

We Americans are used to being boiled slowly as citizens or Soldiers, unlike other countries where there is no facade or pretense of good governance and death comes quicker (e.g. USSR/Russia, Iran, Gaza/West Bank, Pol Pot's Cambodia).
