72. Yep npr is a culprit. I wonder if good voices left public radio and are making podcasts and money

Or npr has poor equipment. I noticed poor sound during COVID. Lots of at home broadcasts of poor quality. Seems to have hung over.

Maybe talk to an audiologist for helpful tips for your mom.
