For movies and many shows I use Bluetooth headphones; it gives my that theatre quality sound without the need to invest in a big sound system. Without them, for movies especially, I can’t make out half of what they are saying. Especially newer releases; TCM channel sounds just fine; watched Hitchcock’s Spellbound last night and understood the dialogue perfectly well.
