There's no death penalty in New York, but if he's also tried where he was found, he could face the death penalty there.

And you're right, the involvement of out-of-touch billionaires in U.S. politics is extremely dangerous. Their goal is to make more money, they have no wish to help working Americans which has traditionally been a priority of the U.S. government, like President Biden's administration.
