Study: Cannabis can help treat bone fractures [View all]
Medical marijuana products rich in cannabidiol (CBD) can help the healing process of bone fractures, researchers say.
In a study published by the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research, scientists at the Hebrew University Bone Laboratory administered CBD to rats with mid-femoral fractures.
“CBD markedly enhanced the biomechanical properties of the healing femora after 8 weeks,” researchers reported.
Researchers also evaluated the administration of both CBD and THC, but did not find it to be more advantageous than CBD by itself.
