(or that have died) has been a fruit tree. And while I admit I've put in some ornamental bushes, I also added a raspberry cane patch and a bush cherry. I want every growing thing to be useful to supporting the wildlife and humans. I'm kind of excited that Seed Savers is starting to sell heritage apple species, although admittedly, the selection is rather slim so far. I've got a spot that would be great for a third apple, but I don't want the bland, generic varieties you can buy in most stores, chosen for attractiveness and shelf life, but rather for flavour.
