The Banshees of Inisherin : Colin Farrell and Brendan Gleeson, directed by Martin McDonagh [View all]

I went to see this tonight and I have to say it was utterly mesmerising. Of McDonagh's previous work, I had seen In Bruges and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, and of the 3 this was absolutely the best of the lot. I can't recommend it highly enough.

While it deals with dark themes, the story is laced with humour, the acting is top class (this is the best performance I have seen from Colin Farrell, while Brendan Gleeson is masterful (reminiscent of Richard Harris in The Field)) and the cinematography is amazing.

Barry Keoghan is a rising star who I am certain you will hear more from, as well as Kerry Condon (appeared in Better Call Saul).
