1988 Kevin Reynolds film based on the William Mastrosimone play "Nanawatai".

A Soviet tank gets lost in the back-country of Afghanistan in 1981, pursued by the Mujahedin. The crewmembers start to turn on one another, leading to a deadly climax.

Most tankers and former tankers agree; it's one of the best tank films ever.
