I just wasn’t able to connect with the character, for obvious reasons. So I wasn’t really able to get the performance just right.

Until the final dress rehearsal. I was somehow able to nail his final racist rant, and it came out perfectly. When I was done, I had to sit down and collect myself, I was shaking so badly.
