and plotline.

It progressed at its own pace, in parallel time line. It was difficult to watch. To come out with a conclusion that "war is hell" is a gross understatment.

To see the anguish, the helplessness of the soldiers. No general leading the battle, no major heroes, or stars. Amazing to see the great Kenneth Branagh in a small role. There really was not much of a dialogue.

And... it tells a piece of history that is not familiar with many of us, in this country, since it takes place before we joined the war.
