Saw Star Wars and found it disappointing (spoilers) [View all]

This movie to me just seemed like it was written very poorly. There was practically no character development. A perfect opportunity to introduce new characters and to me...they were all flat. Nothing was explained about any of them.

Another problem I had is this movie seems almost like a rewrite of Episode 4's plot...planet-killing Death Star and all but with horrible pacing. They seriously couldnt think of a better plot?

As for the character, Rey. I had lots of problems with her. No weaknesses. No flaws. She can't fire Han Solo's gun but can beat Kylo Ren in a lightsaber duel? I had some people tell me that Rey is a "Mary Sue" character. And after watching this movie...I can see why. She can't be beaten. She seems invincible. Everything is very easy for her. She's already beaten the villain. I mean with the original trilogy, Luke had trouble beating Vader, even gets his hand cut off by him. It's easy to see Vader was by far superior to Luke. But Rey already mastered the Force and is better than the villain.

It was an OK movie. It was entertaining. But I think this movie is far overrated. I don't understand how anyone who was a fan of the original trilogy is giving this movie a 10.

Just my opinion though.
