1. About time that department was answerable to someone. But it won't be easy. They are really

an entity unto themselves. They are more a military operation at this point than a civilian police force and they appear to be connected to the Military as well as some international versions of the CIA here. They were allowed to get away with so much as a result of 9/11. That never should have happened, but of course they, with such a history of corruption and racism before 9/11, took full advantage of that tragedy with the help of Giuliani first then Bloomberg.

This is not the only group demanding accountability from them, and the more who do the more likely it is happen eventually. Authoritarians always make the same mistake in the end, they always become too arrogant and abusive forcing a reaction from the people.
