1. 'without specific reasons for protesting'. The reason for protesting IS specific.

It's right in the name of the movement. And yes, it has been successful, more so than Congress has in terms of doing anything for the PEOPLE. Eg, they managed to get money moved out of the major banks, since Congress refused to hold anyone accountable for the collapse of the economy. They did more to keep people in their homes, than the entire government with all their talk of caring about the people.

They changed the dialogue and according to the NY AG, helped him by their support, to hold back on signing the deal Congress and the WH tried to push through, basically letting the Banks off the hook almost completely. The deal he eventually got, while not great, did not remove homeowners' ability to sue the banks eg. He specifically mentioned Occupy as being responsible for helping him stand up against the pressure he was under to just bail out the banks one more time.

And so much more, in just six months.

So, I will vote for number one, but they have been very specific about the reason for their existence and for their protests.
