That very philosophy leaves the people open to all kinds of other crazy ideas. When applying logic and critical thinking skills is discouraged it leaves people wide open to manipulation by charismatic leaders. Anyone that is well versed in the bible can make any argument on either side of any subject, and claim to be the ultimate source of the truth.

To paraphrase an old bumper sticker, "Trump said it, I believe it, and that is the end of it."
