Because religion can make you abandon common sense.

I had ticket for an outdoor concert this past Sunday evening at 7pm. At 5pm it was 93 and I had enough common sense to know it wouldn't be good for me to be out in that. At 7 it had only gone down to 90.

Even if I had toughed it out I'm pretty sure I would not really have enjoyed it.
