And I'm reminded of Red (Morgan Freeman) in Shawshank Redemption when he had his parole board interviews. All the ones where he's rejected, he said he felt he'd been "rehabilitated." In the one where he just doesn't care anymore, and takes on a completely sarcastic tone with the panel, he gets approved for parole.

Not that you should take the same attitude, only that what you're feeling now might give you surprisingly good results
