When the Viet Nam war ended I remember asking my Dad if Walter Cronkite would still be on at 6:30, I seriously didn't think there would be nightly news without THE WAR.

Reagan was President when I entered college; I remember just knowing that I did not like most of my generation, too many of them lacked any sort of depth of emotion or thought. So many seemed like plastic, two dimensional people. I certainly wasn't superior to anyone, I had problems out the ass, big ones! Any of them would be ashamed to have been me, but I couldn't have imagined being a lot of them, it was like part of them was turned off if it ever existed at all.

I'm 48, so my mostly plastic generation is running a lot of stuff now. Bad news. There hasn't been much depth added to many of these characters, and I am willing to bet the most shallow = the most "successful" as our current paradigm views success.
