2. In a sense they are right

religion is on the downturn. Slower in America than Europe, but overall, it's definitely going down not up. Democrats are the party of science and reason and we have a lot more non-religious people than Republicans do. I can see why they see us as a threat, and to be fair, we probably are. Not because we aren't fervently freedom of religion, we are.

I celebrate any religious person who uses their beliefs for good. I do not begrudge the comfort that religion brings for them. I even envy it a little bit.

But what we don't do is push religion. Even the religious among us don't do that. And if religion isn't pushed, then it starts to lose adherents. Religions spread by proselytization. If you slow that down, so does the spread.
