8. I would argue even that is counterproductive

Most of the greatest works of religious art were produced on commission, meaning that the inspiration came from the dinero rather than the divine. So the money used to produce them already had most of the top skinned off by the religious authorities. Would have been cheaper and better to do so through public funding methods.
