And if you live in that area, you are very cognizant of the differences between the two states.

When we were getting ready to move there (from Colorado), I rather assumed we'd move to Kansas City, which I knew perfectly well was in Missouri. My husband said, "Oh, no, they have lousy schools there, we are moving to Kansas." And when we first connected to a realtor, we let her know that good schools were a primary concern, and we only looked at schools in the Shawnee Mission school district. This was in 1990.
