in the Dodger organization when Pee Wee Reese was not only the Dodger shortstop, but team captain. He spent all or part of 9 years in the minors before getting his shot in 1959 at age 26. He revolutionized the game, stealing more than 104 bases in 1962, at a time when 20 steals was considered a high number.
