on the National Baseball Hall of Fame site. The Yankees traditionally wore this away uniform going back a long way, although they didn’t start wearing the numbers until the late 1920s.

The Sox are supposed to be wearing their 1917 home unis in this game. They are close, although it should be an 8 panel cap. If these are supposed to be 1917 Yankee away uniforms, they are wrong. Those were gray, with New York on the chest, but with pinstripes. The Yankees never wore a logo that large on the cap, and in 1917 it would have been an 8 panel cap as well.
