Some time has passed I realize since this topic/post but, I received word from a man of the same surname of my grgrgrandmother from Kilkenney and it seems they've been searching for their long lost ancestors that went west after arriving in New York c. 1860 or so. Well, they were looking for me!

They are a well-organized group and they have a family historian that is in her 80s. She wrote me a letter and sent me a picture of the farm and house that they lived in at the time and still reside in today in Kilkenney! I mean like !!

These cousins that have found me write to me often, send me Xmas cards and stuff and yes, they even call me on the telephone now and then!

They live in Massachusetts and New Jersey respectively and they are really nice people and great cousins indeed (far better than some of the ones I've known of most of my life!).

They found me via ancestry.com it seems as my family is well-placed in the census records of San Francisco dating back to 1870.

So, hang on -- someone may some day be trying to find YOU rather than YOU trying to find them!

Yippee is about all I can say!
