Here they go again, reaching for the hot stove in an election year....
http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/powerpost/wp/2015/10/07/senate-democrats-preparing-gun-control-legislation/
The three-part proposal spearheaded by Senate Democratic Policy and Communications Center Chairman Chuck Schumer (N.Y.) and Debbie Stabenow (Mich.) includes closing background check loopholes for Internet and gun show sales, expanding the background check database and cracking down on the illegal gun market, according to a letter to Senate colleagues obtained by The Washington Post.
I wonder, what is the point????
The Umpqua Community Collage shooter Christopher Harper-Mercer legally purchased his guns from FFLs and had background checks performed.
The Charleston church shooter Dylann Roof legally purchased his gun from an FFL and had a background check performed.
Isla Vista shooter Eliot Rodgers legally purchased his guns from FFLs and had background checks performed.
Colorado theater shooter James Holmes legally purchased his guns from FFLs and had background checks performed.
Virginia Tech shooter Seung-Hui Cho legally purchased his guns from FFLs and had background checks performed.
Ft. Hood shooter Ivan Lopez legally purchased his guns from an FFL and had background checks performed.
Ft. Hood shooter Nidal Malik Hasan legally purchased his gun from an FFL and had a background check performed.
Navy Yard shooter Aaron Alexis legally purchased his gun from an FFL and had background checksstate and federalperformed. He also had a security clearance.
I believe that the Minneapolis shooter Andrew John Engeldinger legally purchased his guns from an FFL and had background checks performed.
Las Vegas shooters Jerad and Amanda Miller legally purchased their guns from an FFL and had background checks performed.
Tucson shooter Jared Loughner legally purchased his gun from an FFL and had a background check performed.
Sandy Hook shooter Adam Lanza used legally purchased guns, he murdered the owner first and then stole them.
Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, the Columbine shooters. The guns were a straw purchase, but the ATF refused to prosecute the straw buyer.
Now tell me again, how background checks will stop this?
