which will be used to house him for the duration of his incarceration. This is not remotely sensible. It is not rational! It would make more sense to give him $30k per year for 10 years so he can get his own place and get the help and support he needs to be able to support himself.

There needs to be a de minimus rule in sentencing where there's no jail time if the amount of money involved in the underlying crime is less than (I'll throw out a number) $10,000.
