floating in a landing craft waiting to load wounded, supples, and dodging kamikazes. He did not see the original flag but saw the second. He never forgot it. Load up, onward to Okinawa, and leave home before the invasion of Japan. He was home when the news came that Japan had surrendered. My Dad was 19.
