4. I went to my usual Mexican grocery

and bought what I guess to be about a year's worth of chilis, once I turn them into paste and can them. Once they're gone, they'll either just be gone or be much more expensive. I need some more tiny canning jars - I guesstimate a 1/2 cup jar to be equivalent to 6-7 chilis.

I'm also going to buy large bags of potatoes - canned soup and trying to freeze mashed potatoes. I'm guessing we're going to be eating a lot of soup, beans, rice, etc. Bags of frozen veg as I can afford them. It's funny; I thought we'd be eating a tiny bit of meat and making up the volume with veg. It seems that the veg is going to be in short supply first.

This weekend, I'll make a large batch of red beans with a ham hock and can most of it. We just used our last jar from the last batch.
