6. I'm kind of a ring-a-ding-dong that can't judge the ripeness of a whole cantaloupe very well

It happens, we're all on a spectrum as far as cognitive ability.

I got a whole cantaloupe that turned out to be quite far from ripe. I kept checking with little slices every other day or so.Then suddenly it turned massively rotten in 2 days.

When cantaloupe is cut up, even just in half in the store, I can judge the ripeness, overcoming my ring-a-ding-dong handicap. Similarly watermelon.

That said, I also realize that all pre-cut fruit is more likely to harbor some nasty bacteria compared to the whole fruit counterpart.
