Persian meat patties, this batch made with ground beef because that's what I happened to grab from the freezer. They include grated onion and partially cooked potato as well as a spice mix of turmeric, cumin, cinnamon, salt, and pepper, and are fried in oil. You get 16 to a pound of meat and can make them with beef, lamb, turkey, or chicken, serve them hot, warm, or room temp. Served up in pita pockets with sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, a dollop of yogurt, and fresh parsley and basil leaves. YUM! Apparently these things have made their way to Russia and eastern Europe where they are known as kotleti, probably spiced and served differently.

Dessert of choice, probably ice cream of some kind for me.
