wild-caught Pacific salmon in the CA Bay Area goes for $20 a pound and up, and has for a while - farm-raised Atlantic salmon is a lot less. I prefer the Pacific, but I eat a lot less of it these days (and use all of it - leftover salmon goes into a white sauce or a cold pasta salad.)
