I think these postings are getting pretty close to commercial spam.

What kind of stores do you patronize if you're having problems finding chickpeas? They're also sold as garbanzo beans, and are widely available both canned and dried. I've even occasionally found fresh ones (now those are rare). They're a staple of Mediterranean/Italian/Near Eastern/Indian cooking - not to mention being a component of that American classic, Three Bean Salad.
