"People suck. ALL people suck. But, a few of us realize that we all suck and try not to suck so badly." - David M.

Wisdom for the ages, as far as I am concerned.

I miss living in the neighborhoods I used to dwell in. Like in East Nashville, where we all knew each other and watched out for each other. If someone they did not recognize pulled into a driveway and the homeowner was not at home, there would be five neighbors over there checking things out. Not in a militant way, just asking if they needed anything and making sure those in the car knew they were being watched. We always helped each other out with anything. In fact, I have an example of how wonderful those neighbors were.

What a mess this was. Yet, we all pitched in. (Do not get me started on the complete lack of city or county aid in this matter. We saw one city pickup stop at the end of the street, look down towards us for about ten seconds, and then left. That was the only city/county presence we saw that day. Oh, except for the two trucks and a crew than arrived at the home of a high ranking deputy who lived about four blocks from us. He got his place cleaned up really nice by the grunts for Davidson County Sheriff's Department. They did not do anything for anyone else that day.)
