The whole time "Joan is Awful" was playing, I kept thinking this is exactly what the writers and actors are striking over. And I wondered if that was on purpose. I don't know the trends/concerns in that industry generally (like the concerns about AI) so I have no idea how long that issue has been a concern or if it was one long ago enough for this production. I kind of suspect it was.

If I'd watched it when it first came out, I doubt I would have had the strong reaction I felt tonight.
