1. One hope -- more single episodes

Serial storylines are fine, but IMO there's a lot of intentional padding in some of these productions (Star Trek Discovery, for example). Single episodes themes that the original ST, TNG and sometimes DS9 explored were the epitome of Gene Roddenberry's brilliant vision: what it means to be human. There was no better stage to explore that question than space. A lot of the recent Trek productions have been missing those types of storylines.

Single episodes are probably more expensive to produce and more difficult to write (and probably why most of what TV streaming we see from Paramount, Disney and Marvel is serialized).

That said, this looks great.
