My husband and our labradoodle were attacked by a pit bull. Turned out it had not had rabies shots. Our doodle had her rabies shots so just needed the bite punctures and abrasions treated and stitched at the vet ($450) but my husband had to get rabies shots. his Medicare and secondary paid for the higher priced cost of the first treatment at the hospital but he was told to go directly to the pharmacy for the second and third shots. He had to pay for those at $700 a piece. It takes an experience to understand the problem…..
