4. Restraining orders are a necessary option, but obviously they don't always work.

Dealing with these problems after they've already become actionable by the courts is playing catch up. It's necessary but it's not enough.

Hopefully support for projects aimed at making aggression toward / domination of partners less acceptable will continue to build, and we can change the culture that enables this kind of activity.
