I brought home a copy of a magazine called Iceland Review, English version. There is an article titled A Difficult Read, about the novel Magma, by _ora Hjorleifsdottir (I couldn't find a English letter equivilent of the character of her first name).

The novel is about a woman in an abusive situation and how she comes to realize she has to get out of it. The article highlights a lot of the abuse in Iceland. As I read, I raised my eyebrows, because I had read several tourist descriptions that it was one of the safest countries for women to travel to.

We all were treated nicely, with no problems.
