But it is really anti-equality, or patriarchal. A father can love their daughter, but not want equality for them, or a mother for that matter. A husband can say he loves his wife, while wanting her to be subservient. It is from the patriarchy, which I guess is on the wane now, but has been in effect for thousands of years.
