3. Doesn't surprise me at all to hear that's how Republicans feel.

Because, after all, these ARE Republicans we're talking about!

The male/female disparity isn't surprising, either. The kind of men who get all worked up about anything to do with LGBTQ issues (especially those who harbor a strong dislike of gay men), are heavily represented in the GOP. These are the guys who are like, "How dare those *homophobic slurs* defy the rules of toxic masculinity to act like anything other than a 'REAL MAN' (as I define that)?" and then do their best to promote discriminatory laws (or make those laws if they're in Congress or a state legislature). So, yeah, that's how I'd expect those jerkfaces to respond.

It sucks, but then Republicans suck, so it's right in character.
