In reply to the discussion: How a Pro-Palestinian American Reporter Changed His Views on Israel and the Conflict [View all]leftynyc
(26,060 posts)26. If you think continuing
to complain about something that happened in the 1800s is going to help, knock yourself out. Americans would have turn over the country to the Native Americans if you want to push that narrative. The history that matters is the FACT the Palestinians have been offered a state not just once, not just twice - and they don't have one through their own failings and those of their leadership. The ONLY way they're going to get one now is to sit down and hammer out an agreement. They cannot defeat Israel militarily. Anyone telling them otherwise is leading them down a path that is a fantasy.

Israel as a country has humanity, as do ordinary Palestinians on a person-to-person basis.

I didn't lie. I don't have time to go back and check, but the implication was always there.

I realize that you think that. There have always been SOME people who have done that.

There is no way to defeat them without using completely scorched-earth tactics.
