In this video I talk about the 200 basis point increase in Russian Interest rates to 21.0% that was announced by the Bank of Russia on 25th October. This is now the highest rate that Russia has seen since 2003 and is higher than the EMERGENCY rate introduced following the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Inflation is currently more than double the target rate set by the Bank of Russia and a recent Press Release by the Bank of Russia reveals that inflation is still rising despite 8 consecutive interest rate rises over the past 15 months.
